Ingredients
3
medium
apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
1
teaspoon
ground cinnamon
2
tablespoons
granulated sugar
1
tablespoon
fresh lemon juice
a pinch
salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to a gentle 200°F (93°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Rinse the apples under cool water, core them, and cut into very thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and set aside.
In a large bowl, add the apple slices and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Gently toss to coat.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the lemon-coated apple slices and toss to ensure even coating.
Lay the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, ensuring they are not touching.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 2 hours, keeping an eye on them as they bake.
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the apple chips to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes.
Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container; they can be stored for up to a week.
Notes
For an attractive display, serve the apple chips in a decorative bowl and sprinkle a little extra cinnamon sugar on top.
