In a medium mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt and black pepper. Stir well to form a fragrant marinade.

    Add the shrimp to the marinade, tossing gently but thoroughly to coat each piece evenly. Allow the shrimp to marinate for about 15 minutes at room temperature to soak up the flavors.

      While the shrimp marinates, prepare the toppings: use a sharp knife to shred the red cabbage, chop the cilantro, and slice the avocado into wedges. Set these aside for assembly.

        Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn a lovely pink color and are opaque throughout. Be cautious not to overcook, as shrimp can become rubbery.

          Meanwhile, in a separate skillet or over a gentle open flame, warm the corn tortillas for a few seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable; this enhances their flavor and texture.

            To assemble your tacos, place a generous serving of shrimp in the center of each tortilla. Top with a handful of shredded cabbage, a few avocado slices, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

              Serve the tacos immediately, accompanied by lime wedges for squeezing and optional hot sauce to drizzle on top for those who crave an extra kick of heat.
